Vinter with Pacific Beach life-Koh Lipe

Go there:From december, the Apollo tour with transfer from Langkawi in Malaysia, which is the nearest international airport. Also combo trips to Langkawi. Two charter weeks in tvåstjärnigt hotels in January from around 13 300 kronor, combined with one week on Koh Lipe on Langkawi from approximately 850.

Scheduled flights to Langkawi, Krabi, Phuket and Hat Yai. One hour speedboatresa from Langkawi, significantly more hours by bus and boat from Phuket and Krabi. Bus/minibus from Hat Yai to Pak Bara, then a boat.

Currency: 100 baht = approx 25 SEK. Please bring cash. There are no ATMs on the island, however, the bureaux de change.

Price Level:Just under half price compared to Sweden according to Forex holiday index.

Bo: Mostly simple bungalowhotell with prices from around $ 100 night for a bungalow at the beach. A few 4-star hotels with air conditioning and pool and prices from around $ 70. Prutbart, especially in the off-season.

Eat: Plenty of small simple canteens at the beaches and on the Walking Street. You get a good dinner with fresh fish and beer for under a hundred dollars.

Good to know: Koh Lipe is part of Ko Tarutao Marine National Park, which encompasses 51 islands of Koh Taruato is the largest. The islands lie in Satun in southern Thailand, but the bottom is not covered by the Foreign Ministry's warnings about travel to the four other provinces in the South of the country. The language is Thai and English-language-learning is significantly worse than on the nearby Langkawi.

Snorkeling at some of the islets off Sunrise Beach or on the boat trip to the nearby reef.

Get thaimassage in one of the many massage places on the beach or Walking Street.

Relax and read books.

The boat trip to the thai-Flemish-ka island Koh Lipe from Langkawi in Malaysia took just an hour. Now we wait for our passports will be stamped in the small Passport Office on the beach. On either side, we see the soft sand and palm trees.

I would not say that Langkawi is particularly urban or overexploited, but compared to Koh Lipe ... Since it seems most tourist resorts as speedade Fairgrounds.

Koh Lipe is not greater than three kilometres from one to the other end. You go easily around the island and have time with its three major beaches in a day. Two of them, Pattaya, Sunrise Beach, most of the hotels which usually consists of simple holiday centre. The third, Sunset Beach, is smaller, and during our visit in the off-season rather skräpig and boring.

Koh Lipe is perfect to hang on the beach and maybe go on a snorkelutflykt. Shopping and eating is done on Walking Street which runs between Pattaya and Sunrise Beach.

Incredibly popular compared to a few years ago, if we are to believe Lucie Skraskova from Prague who is here for the fourth time in six years:

"They have built a lot since I was here the first time. Then Walking Street a climb and there were only a few bungalowställen. But I think it is good now, just keep it at this level and not build more.

She and her guy are just from a trekkingresa in the Himalayas and relaxing a bit here before they go home again. And it is probably just in the position Koh Lipe is best, as a really lazy conclusion to a thrilling trip. Or in conjunction with the Langkawi or something else more vibrant destination.

Swedish charter is here already, but it is only in the winter that charterresenärerna don't have the long shuttle from Krabi and instead lands on Langkawi.

Well here it is easy to fall into the Pacific ölunken: lie on the beach, snorkeling a little at one of the islets on swimming distance or on a boat trip, kvällsöl on the beach, knalla Walking Street up and down. Soon begins to cheer on the people and feel like at home. Something that very much concerns Dave Haesen from Belgium and Kairit Jäme from Estonia. They have been here for a month and have met staff at Lipe Beach Resort. When it begins to rain picks Dave of course in cushions and pillows in the ceiling so they do not become wet.

He came here on a recommendation:

-I worked in Melbourne and a Thai girl that told me about Koh Lipe. Now we have been here for four weeks, but tomorrow we will go, unfortunately.

He will miss the lax days on the beach and travel Centre's dogs who follow him and Kairit whenever they show up.
