The hotel prices are rising

World's hotels are becoming more expensive. For the first time in five years, prices are up again, especially in the United States and Asia. Most of all it cost in Rio de Janeiro.

The average price of apartments rose by 4 percent during the first half of 2012. It shows a report from Hotels.com, based on the site's actual hotel prices for 140,000 hotels worldwide. It is mainly the United States and Asia, which begins to cost more. Most most expensive is Rio de Janeiro, where the average price is 1 980 SEK per night. The increase against the previous year's entire 37 percent.
-The number of Visitors has increased both private and business travellers. It is now also more domestic travelers in the country, affecting prices, says Åsa Söderberg Murphy, the Nordic region Manager for Hotels.com.

Europe is cheaper
Prices in Europe, however, has not gone up as much, on average, only one percent. In some places, they have even fallen, in Athens by 5% and in Marbella with 9 percent.
-For us Swedes, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the lower prices in Spain, Greece and Portugal, which we already have a penchant for, says Åsa Söderberg Murphy.
Northern Europe fared better, said she and exemplifies with Paris, London and Stockholm, where prices have risen.  In Paris, the increase 9 percent, and in Frankfurt, where many travels on business, 12 percent.
Cheapest of all countries are Viet Nam, one night in Hanoi is costing 345 kronor and in Ho Chi Minh City 506 SEK.
