Predicting the weather

A tribal Indians ask their new Chief if the winter is going to be cold or mild. Because the young chieftain has not learned the methods of their ancestors, he says for them to gather firewood and then ducking away to call SMHI.
"The winter Will be cold?" he asks.
"Look so out", is the answer. So chief tells his people to gather more firewood and calling again a week later.
"Are you sure that the winter is very cold?"
"Absolutely."
More firewood is collected and Chief calling again: "are you sure?"
"I have already said that it will be the coldest winter ever!"
"But how do you know that?"
"To the Indians collecting firewood that filled!"
