Islands with diverse nature

On the narrow stenterrassen away visitors and city of white and red wines together with small dishes of olives, seafood and cheeses. They enjoy the breathtaking views. The House is built of stone and Ivy climbs up towards the ceiling. If we didn't know that we are in New Zealand had a guess rather been Italy. But when we look out to the sea, expanses softer, flatter Plains. The ocean is endless.
We are on the island of Waiheke, a wine paradise, 45 minutes by ferry off New Zealand's largest city Auckland. Here on Waiheke is the grapes in the Center. We try to top ten different wine varieties on the vineyard Mudbrick. We start with the whites: chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Then we move to the rosé, subtly spicy syrahtoner with strawberries and red berries.
The red wines are heavier. A merlot, pinot gris, and an award-winning syrah with the taste of black currant, licorice and dark plums. Waiheke Island is a Sweden in miniature, with beautiful beaches and holiday feel. Here lives a group of winemakers who have managed to match the island's climate and growing structure with the classic grape varietals. They produce both red and white wines are successful, and prisbelönas regularly at syrahvinerna.
Landscape of New Zealand are incredibly diverse and temperatures as well. To the North are the tropical primeval forest Kauri with up to 50 m tall trees. Here you can see the kiwifågel and in the sea, seals and whales. The South Island is reminiscent of many of the Norwegian landscape. Here are the fjords with vertical rock walls and the magnificent glaciers Franz Josef and Fox Glacier are mystical in djungellik forest. Just next to it are several beautiful beaches, including Gillespie.
Here you can climb in one Icelandic Cape in the morning and take a warm waters in the afternoon. Thanks to the considerable differences in climate and nature offers each and every one of the country's top ten wine regions in very different experiences. You can try a spicy red cabernet merlot from Hawkes Bay, a tropical sauvignon blanc in Marlborough and an experimental chardonnay in the Waitaki.
On the South Island, there is a relatively newly discovered area in Waipara, in the middle of fantastic scenery, a few kilometres north of Christchurch. Further South are sensational great pinot noir wines in the world's southernmost wine-growing district of Central Otago. New Zealand's wine revolution began in the 1980s in the idyllic Marlborough. It is one of the world's youngest wine regions but the area is already for almost 80% of New Zealand's wine production. The climate here is comparable to that of French Champagne and Burgundy. It is sunny and dry, and Marlborough Gets the most hours of sunshine in the whole of New Zealand, 2,400 a year.
The landscape is dazzling beautiful. Green Plains and rolling hills surrounding the neatly planted areas. When you pass through the area by car, it is difficult not to stop after each vägkrok just to watch and take in the countryside. I am constantly reminding myself that we are not in Norway, France and Italy. We are in New Zealand, a wonderfully strange mix of all the above.

Dare to try bamboo worms

The food at the In and Out (No. 1 Beixiaojie Salintun, Chaoyang District) is typical of the province of Yunnan in southern China: acid, light, with many different mushrooms, lotus roots, thinly shredded chicken and dried, snabbstekt steak.

In Yunnan live many of China's 55 minorities. The personnel are ready in three floors dressed in Dai, Miao, Naxi and other ethnic groups ' clothing.

It is a really pleasant dining experience that meets the guests, since the spring, in combat power to this area. If you want to test something guaranteed to be new, one can always try bamboo worms.

Racist button

A white man walked into a pub with a button on his chest that said "I hate Negroes" and sat down.

- Listen kid, some of the guests here probably will not like you wearing that button. You should remove it, warned the bartender.
- I do not care man said. I hate niggers, they are lazy and smell bad. I hate them simply!

After a while a big negro up to the man and said: - I do not like that button, take it off or I'll take the self.
- No way! Negroes are stupid and lazy, the man said.
- Then I remove it yourself! Let's go out and make up, said negro.

The two ends. Once out as tears negro up a large knife.

The white man says:
- See how stupid niggers are! Bring a knife to a gunfight!

This is another London, discover Fulham

Go there: Take for example with SAS, Norwegian and Ryanair. Travel is currently between 1,000 and 2,500 dollars per person, roundtrip from Seattle.
Best time: spring, summer, autumn.
Bo: There are many bed and breakfast. Expect between 500 and more than 1 000 SEK during the night in a double room.
Borough of Fulham is a gem in a short distance from the major tourist bubble-. Take the bus from Piccadilly and you're there on a button half-hour.
Borough of Fulham in Southwest London are typically working area that in recent years has undergone a facelift. There are lots of good shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.
Get off at the Metro station, Parsons Green. Which gets you straight out of charming homes, award winning pubs and beautiful green areas and is just a stone's throw from the main street, Fulham Road.
Walk slowly in the direction of the River Thames and browse hand-painted ceramics, beautiful interior fittings, delicacies, luxurious skin care products and vinotek. Are you coffee craving, you can slip into one of several excellent Italian kaffebarer. Hungry, you are definitely when you pass the Parson ´ 's Nose, the local charkuteriet that makes small delicate matpajer and own sausages. Fulham sausage is a real höjdare.
At the book Cafe Nomad Books you can sit down and read newspapers or just tampering with free collective at all fine book backs of the shelves to the tune of low-key jazz. This part of Fulham has also become something of a vintage and second hand cluster. Connoisseur goes to Circa Vintage on Fulham High Street. Among ordinary customers are several famous actresses and artists, and this is where the high-end fashion magazines go when they are looking for clothes and accessories for their photo shoots. Each garment, bag and jewelry is like a delicious little confection-completely irresistible. However, it is not cheap.
A walk in Bishop's Park is a must. Huge tree sits along the beautiful pedestrian thoroughfare adjacent to the Thames River. The sporty steering steps towards Football Club Fulhams ground, Craven Cottage, from 1896. Drag it over to the historical direction is biskopspalatset a given goal. The building dates from the late 15th century is fascinating to explore.
But if you want to just relax and eat something good, just as good. A sopplunch or carrot can be enjoyed either inside one of the fancy dining halls with crystal chandeliers and stucco, or on the back, overlooking the botanical gardens.

Identity crisis

A Jew and a Negress got a child together. The child grew up and had a good childhood. When he came home one day after school, took place the following:
"Dad?"
"Yes, my son?"
"Dad, I'm Jewish or negro?"
"But why do you ask?"
"Well, there's a guy at school who sells a TV and I'm wondering if I should haggle on price or steal it."

Islamist violence affecting Kenya's tourism

Violent attacks by islamist groups striking hard against Kenya's tourist industry. During this year's first eight months decreased the number of visitors in the country, with 22 percent compared with the same period last year.

The Kenyan military involvement in neighboring Somalia have led to several recent reprisals from groups that support the islamist militia al-Shabab. In addition to tea and flower exports, tourism is one of the country's main sources of income.

Vinter with Pacific Beach life-Koh Lipe

Go there:From december, the Apollo tour with transfer from Langkawi in Malaysia, which is the nearest international airport. Also combo trips to Langkawi. Two charter weeks in tvåstjärnigt hotels in January from around 13 300 kronor, combined with one week on Koh Lipe on Langkawi from approximately 850.

Scheduled flights to Langkawi, Krabi, Phuket and Hat Yai. One hour speedboatresa from Langkawi, significantly more hours by bus and boat from Phuket and Krabi. Bus/minibus from Hat Yai to Pak Bara, then a boat.

Currency: 100 baht = approx 25 SEK. Please bring cash. There are no ATMs on the island, however, the bureaux de change.

Price Level:Just under half price compared to Sweden according to Forex holiday index.

Bo: Mostly simple bungalowhotell with prices from around $ 100 night for a bungalow at the beach. A few 4-star hotels with air conditioning and pool and prices from around $ 70. Prutbart, especially in the off-season.

Eat: Plenty of small simple canteens at the beaches and on the Walking Street. You get a good dinner with fresh fish and beer for under a hundred dollars.

Good to know: Koh Lipe is part of Ko Tarutao Marine National Park, which encompasses 51 islands of Koh Taruato is the largest. The islands lie in Satun in southern Thailand, but the bottom is not covered by the Foreign Ministry's warnings about travel to the four other provinces in the South of the country. The language is Thai and English-language-learning is significantly worse than on the nearby Langkawi.

Snorkeling at some of the islets off Sunrise Beach or on the boat trip to the nearby reef.

Get thaimassage in one of the many massage places on the beach or Walking Street.

Relax and read books.

The boat trip to the thai-Flemish-ka island Koh Lipe from Langkawi in Malaysia took just an hour. Now we wait for our passports will be stamped in the small Passport Office on the beach. On either side, we see the soft sand and palm trees.

I would not say that Langkawi is particularly urban or overexploited, but compared to Koh Lipe ... Since it seems most tourist resorts as speedade Fairgrounds.

Koh Lipe is not greater than three kilometres from one to the other end. You go easily around the island and have time with its three major beaches in a day. Two of them, Pattaya, Sunrise Beach, most of the hotels which usually consists of simple holiday centre. The third, Sunset Beach, is smaller, and during our visit in the off-season rather skräpig and boring.

Koh Lipe is perfect to hang on the beach and maybe go on a snorkelutflykt. Shopping and eating is done on Walking Street which runs between Pattaya and Sunrise Beach.

Incredibly popular compared to a few years ago, if we are to believe Lucie Skraskova from Prague who is here for the fourth time in six years:

"They have built a lot since I was here the first time. Then Walking Street a climb and there were only a few bungalowställen. But I think it is good now, just keep it at this level and not build more.

She and her guy are just from a trekkingresa in the Himalayas and relaxing a bit here before they go home again. And it is probably just in the position Koh Lipe is best, as a really lazy conclusion to a thrilling trip. Or in conjunction with the Langkawi or something else more vibrant destination.

Swedish charter is here already, but it is only in the winter that charterresenärerna don't have the long shuttle from Krabi and instead lands on Langkawi.

Well here it is easy to fall into the Pacific ölunken: lie on the beach, snorkeling a little at one of the islets on swimming distance or on a boat trip, kvällsöl on the beach, knalla Walking Street up and down. Soon begins to cheer on the people and feel like at home. Something that very much concerns Dave Haesen from Belgium and Kairit Jäme from Estonia. They have been here for a month and have met staff at Lipe Beach Resort. When it begins to rain picks Dave of course in cushions and pillows in the ceiling so they do not become wet.

He came here on a recommendation:

-I worked in Melbourne and a Thai girl that told me about Koh Lipe. Now we have been here for four weeks, but tomorrow we will go, unfortunately.

He will miss the lax days on the beach and travel Centre's dogs who follow him and Kairit whenever they show up.

Breaking Away

Jonte sitting at the breakfast table reading newspaper when his wife walks up to him and smash a pot in his head.
- Aye, why did you do that? asks Jonte and rubbing his sore head with his hand.
- I found a note in your pocket yesterday named Jennifer on, replies the wife.
- But, dear friend, I was on the racetrack yesterday and the horse I bet on the third race was Jennifer.
His wife believes in the Declaration and ashamed asking him to apologize. A few weeks later when he normally sits and reads his morning paper at the breakfast table, his wife came to him and gives him a violent blow with the frying pan to the head. When he clears after a few minutes he said with a weak voice:
- Why on earth do you strike me like that?
The wife stared at him with a look that could kill:
- Horse bastard called yesterday!

"Landed in Kiev and nothing worked."

Worst resminne ...

It is aptly when I was home from Cyprus and my airline ticket was invalid which meant that I had to buy a new for the 8,000 or 9,000 with a Ukrainian airline. I landed in Kiev and nothing worked, no food was available to buy, unable to charge the phone, I sat among the vodkaflaskorna in the taxfreebutiken to load. It was one of the worst travel memories.

Best resminne ...

I have very many. One was when i was in Lake Titicaca in Peru and was staying with an indian family. It is extremely distant both culturally and geographically. But I'm Spanish so we sat there and talked about politics. It is awesome to be able to sit and talk such as far away from home.

The Pack I always ...

I seldom travel without cash. It is not clear that having cash today. Since I have always a good playlist in my phone with me. And finally a good carry-on. If my luggage is lost and I are traveling on business, I have to be able to cope with me at least a day of work on what I have in hand luggage.

The first thing I do in a hotel room ...

– I check into the bathroom first. It says a lot about the standard of the hotel. If the bathroom is fresh, as is most often the rest of the room too. Then I check how many links there are in the room because I often need a lot of electricity when I travel for business. Then I look in the bed, if it is hard or soft.

Travel Tip ...

– I hate to queue and much of my travel is to plan so I don't have to queue up as little as possible. Not to associate itself with the largest children's family in the queue or go last into the aircraft as it is just unnecessary to go into the past. Another tip is to have a grip when you're on vacation. Don't ask the hotel for best restaurant because they can be paid to tell about a particular place. Look on the net instead.

Is it really so bad?

Question:I have heard that the food in Cuba is not so good. I cannot believe it, What can you say about it?

Answer: Cuban cuisine deteriorated in the early 1990s. The Soviet Union collapsed and Russia withdrew financial support they have given to his socialist-Allied since economic sanctions were imposed, and food shortages were widespread. The country's rich culinary heritage afrokaribiska and Spanish influences became tarnished by rumors of grapefruktbiffar and pizza with melted condoms instead of cheese.

But Cuban cuisine today can be sublime if you know where to look. Ironically, two other consequences of the period in the 1990s, which now offers the best: ' paladares "and" casas particulares ". Private family dining and bed-and-breakfast places.

This is lovingly made food, as opposed to public restaurants where the sometimes bland food is produced. The Foundation is rice and ' congrí ' (black beans). Avocados, squash and root vegetables such as cassava is usually used together with pork or chicken. Fish and seafood, as well as ' cangrejo (crab) or ' langosta (lobster), which is served in an oily garlic sauce is one of the world's best. Cuba is also full of wonderful ice cream shops (the national chain's Coppelia, where Fidel Castro sometimes chose today's taste). Cuban brylé-pudding (' flan ') is divine: a fluffy grädd and äggbakad by-law toppad with crispy caramel.

Cuban food is, however, the diversity that many countries have. Consumers of alcohol has the better here. Rommen on Cuba is known, such as Havana Club, Bacardi, an ingredient in classic cocktails such as mojito and daiquiri.

Anna bergendahl: I was terrified first night

Worst resminne?

It was the first time I went to India and saw a huge culture clash. We arrived in the middle of the night to Chennai and the first night was horrible. It was grating for Windows and my friend that I would sleep with came late because she forgot his passport so I got myself to sleep first night and I was terrified. However, I have survived the first night and then it was fine. I was 18 years old and had only traveled in Europe before and it was pretty big differences to come to Asia.

Best resminne ...

– It is actually the same trip. After the terrible night we went to a village where I lived in an orphanage for three weeks while I signed a project work. Where I acklimatiserade me, felt welcome, and come in both children and staff. I felt I fit in, and it is definitely one of my best travel memories.

Favorite Destinations ...

I like to take a weekend with my friends. Previously, I lived in Nyköping and Skavsta remained close and then flies to most major cities in Europe and I love mostly Barcelona. I was there on a field trip when I stuff in Spanish and has returned several times. The sea, the people, the culture and the beautiful architecture are some of the things that attracts. It really is a favorite destination.

The Pack I always down
in the suitcase ...

I do like having a bikini even if I go to a cold country. I love to swim and there is a pool, so I fit in. I have also always with me a heart as my godfather täljt in wood and an amulet that I received from my dad. I am quite superstitious by me so the two things I always have with me in hand luggage.

The first thing I do
the hotel room ...

– Coffee and kettle must be present. And like a refrigerator. I often live long in hotels and I would like to be able to make their own breakfast. It is even better if the stove so I can cook my own food. I get tired pretty fast to eat out. Otherwise, I am not so careful with standard and so.

Sharing is not always easy toilet

Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg

Two girls ~ 15 going into the bathroom which is for both men and women.
Girl 1 (disgusted): Is this the toilet for boys ... and girls?
Girl 2: Yes, but hurry. Go then.
Girl 1: No, god ... I can smell dick. I can not go in here.

Now take the Swedish leaven to London

The story of the Fabrique is a love story in several ways. Behind it stands the-genuine spouses Zetterström, actually met when they worked at the same bakeries – David Baker and Charlotte in the shop. – Then the stuff we both passed on to private economists, but worked at bakeries. So the passion for bread and whole baking thing was hanging with all the time, "says Charlotte.
The couple's common dream of running her own bakery where bread is cooked by hand in the traditional way, became a reality when the four years ago opened the Fabrique of Scheelegatan, Stockholm. Since then, the number of employees has gone from two to 40, and the company's turnover is between 2009 and 2011 has increased from 10 to 30 million. "We had good buoyancy which opened just in 2008, when people began to become more aware and wanted närproducerat. So we became a part of surdegstrenden, says David.
Today, the spouses seven stores in Stockholm, summer opening Box Stone oven bakery on Gotland, and in October opened a bakery in Shoreditch, London. – We love London, but we love their bread, "says Charlotte. It was in april, we came to the idea to open there, and now everything is soon finished. We have got hold of exquisite facilities where it has just opened a microbrewery and a ekobutik.
David and Charlotte says that Londoners are becoming more aware of what they eat, but the trend of ecological and närproducerat not really bloomed out there yet.The story of the Fabrique is a love story in several ways. Since then, the number of employees has gone from two to 40, and the company's turnover is between 2009 and 2011 has increased from 10 to 30 million."We had good buoyancy which opened just in 2008, when people began to become more aware and wanted närproducerat. So we became a part of surdegstrenden, says David.
Today, the spouses seven stores in Stockholm, summer opening Box Stone oven bakery on Gotland, and in October opened a bakery in Shoreditch, London.– We love London, but we love their bread, "says Charlotte. It was in april, we came to the idea to open there, and now everything is soon finished. We have got hold of exquisite facilities where it has just opened a microbrewery and a ekobutik.
David and Charlotte says that Londoners are becoming more aware of what they eat, but the trend of ecological and närproducerat not really bloomed out there yet.
