About the Maria church in Helsingborg Sweden

The church building
St Mary's Church in Helsingborg is the city's oldest church, built in the 1100s in the Romanesque style. During the 1400s this was replaced by a three naves Gothic brick church, but they have used sandstone blocks from the old church in the socket to koromgången and the western part. St Mary's Church is called a pseudo-basilica as it has a raised nave, but does not rise so high above the aisles to fit windows between the roofs. Stair Gable tower was added in the 1500's. In the 1800's were replaced with copper leads. 1843 rev to the church porch to the south and the vestry in the north when you restored the church, designed by Carl Georg Brunius. The sacristy was rebuilt but in 1953, designed by G. W Widmark, with the old vestry as a model.
In the 1300's, St. Mary's Church one of Denmark's largest city churches.
The church is protected under the Cultural Heritage Act.

Equipment
The christening font is from the 1300s and is made of gray limestone from Gotland. Brass platter is from the 1600s.
The altar screen was made in the 1400s and consists of double doors depicting scenes from Mary and Jesus' life. During avdentsveckorna changed motives so that they are instead showing scenes from the life of Jesus from the entrance into Jerusalem to the Ascension. On Good Friday, the cabinet is closed and the pictures show the apostles and saints.
Pulpit came to the 1600 century and is made in the Renaissance style. It was produced by the master Statius Otto of Lüneburg and consists of a number of scenes from the Bible about the chair itself. The staircase door and panel are richly sculptured.
The glass paintings in the church is from the 1900s and is performed by Erik Olsson, Einar Forseth, Ralph Bergenholtz and Martin Emond.
The old church organ Dietrich Buxtehude played on when he was organist at the church in 1849 was sold at auction to Dry Loose Assembly for 600 dollars and have ever since been in the Dry Loose church, see under the word. Saint Mary's church has tried to buy back the organ.
Choir organ, which has 15 parts and manual, built in 1997-2000 by Robert Gustavson's organ building, Härnösand (link) and was designed, constructed and intonerad by Mads Kjersgaard, Bjärby (link).
Epitaph elders Simon Meisner (died 1741) and the Reverend Jons Rönbeck (died 1742).

  2. Now it all seems so simple. Events intersect free of any logic of sequence; they cover space and time in an even, translucent layer. Memory re-creates them from the back, from the front, or sideways, but to them it makes no difference.
